X Recruits Crypto Design Talent For X Money

Benji Taylor, whose recent work ran through Aave, Avara, and Coinbase's Base network, will lead design as Elon Musk moves X closer to a broader payments launch.

X has hired Benji Taylor as head of design just ahead of a wider X Money rollout. Cointelegraph reports Taylor is coming in with a background shaped inside crypto product teams, not traditional banking software, after recent work at Aave, Avara, and Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 network Base.

Taylor founded Los Feliz Engineering, the consumer software studio that Aave Labs acquired in 2023. He later served as chief product officer around the Aave stack and then led design work for Base across user and developer experiences. That path matters because X says it will fold peer-to-peer payments, wallet functions, and a debit card into the social app itself. Hiring someone from DeFi and Ethereum product design suggests X wants people who already know how to make financial interfaces feel native inside one connected surface.
